A Call to Action DUE: September 4, 2020 by 12 PM EST On September 2nd, ABC Board Chair Dr. Elizabeth Ofili participated in the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s (NASEM) public listening session regarding a “Discussion Draft Preliminary Framework for Equitable Allocation of COVID-19 Vaccine.” See Dr. Ofili’s full statement made on behalf of the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC). ABC will submit an official written statement to NASEM on September 4, 2020, and members are invited to provide comments based on feedback received from patients and the community more broadly. It is important to ABC’s leadership that the organizational position includes the perspective of members whom we count on to reach patients and community members at risk for COVID-19 as well as cardiovascular disease.
