This session will discuss the effect of racial/ethnic disparities and social determinants on atrial fibrillation epidemiology as well as screening and treatment options for cardiac amyloidosis. The Dr. Elijah B. Saunders Memorial Cardiology II Subspecialty Section Symposium Empowering Primary Care Providers in Cardiovascular Health: Addressing Key Conditions.

This session will discuss early recognition and referral criteria for primary care providers as well as highlight the importance of timely intervention and collaboration with cardiology specialists. Presenters will discuss genetic screening, family history assessment, and offer practical strategies for primary care providers to enhance cardiovascular care. The session includes several case studies on elevated Lipoprotein(a) levels in ASCVD, peripheral vascular disease, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
