The Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) kicks off its Spirit of the Heart Grambling programming with a Juneteenth Gospel Celebration and Message from the Pulpit — bringing cardiovascular health awareness to the faith community in a spirit of worship and celebration.
Cardiovascular health messaging will be delivered during the celebration by health ministry leaders, physicians, or the Pastor. Congregants will receive educational materials, including ABC’s 7 Steps to a Healthy Heart patient education, and will hear about lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and healthcare-seeking tips.
These Spirit of the Heart events are held in conjunction with the City of Grambling’s Juneteenth Heritage Festival and the We Are One Grambling All School Reunion, and are part of ABC’s national Cardiology Deserts Campaign — addressing persistent barriers to cardiovascular care in underserved communities across the South.
The ABC Cardiology Deserts Campaign is supported, in part, by Amgen, Novo Nordisk, Novartis, and AstraZeneca.
