The program centers on a screening of the award-winning short documentary Bloodlines, Mississippi, followed by a moderated discussion featuring clinicians, policymakers, community leaders, patients, and advocates working to end the Black American Amputation Epidemic.

Program Highlights

  • Screening of Bloodlines, Mississippi
  • Panel discussion on:
    • Diabetes disparities and PAD underdiagnosis
    • Structural inequities, cardiology deserts, and insurance gaps
    • Policy, workforce, and community-based prevention solutions
  • A call to action for earlier screening, equitable care, and systemic reform

Featured Participant:
Dr. Foluso Fakorede, Interventional Cardiologist and Chair, ABC PAD Initiative (featured in the film)

Bloodlines, Mississippi is directed by award-winning filmmaker Crystal Kayiza and produced by Grain Media, presented in collaboration with Nobel Prize Outreach.
