As American Heart Month continues, ABC is proud to amplify Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day on February 22, a national effort to increase understanding of a serious but often underdiagnosed condition affecting millions. Early detection remains critical, particularly for older adults and high-risk populations, where symptoms my be mistaken for normal aging.

This year marks 10 years of national awareness efforts, highlighting progress in education, diagnosis, and advocacy. ABC encourages everyone to use this week to share educational resources, engage in conversations about about symptoms, such as shortness of breath or fatigue, and reinforce the importance of timely evaluation.

ABC will also support a February 25 awareness reception in Washington, DC, bringing together partners, advocates, and policymakers to advance continued progress in heart valve disease recognition and care.
