The Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) is pleased to announce a call for our second round of applications to support COVID-19 projects. Our first application round in 2020 at the height of the pandemic resulted in a highly competitive process that resulted in the selection of 6 winners who presented their plans during our COVID-19 webinars earlier this year.
DeadlineSeptember 1, 2021
In the United States, COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected African-Americans as well as other racial and ethnic groups including Hispanic/LatinX and Native Americans. The Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) continues its commitment to addressing this toll on diverse communities through education, research, and advocacy. Recognizing that the underlying COVID-19 inequities are similar in nature to those pertaining to cardiovascular disease, we seek to identify solution-focused mechanisms aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 infection and decreasing cardiovascular and other health risks due to COVID-19.
Thus, ABC welcomes applications from individual(s) or organizations that satisfy one or more of the following:
1. Development of targeted interventions or approaches aimed at addressing issues such as vaccine uptake and long-hauler syndrome especially in Black,
Hispanic/LatinX or Native communities.
2. Implementation of sustainable mechanisms to prevent infection spread.
3. Leverage partnerships with community-facing entities or organizations.
4. Proposals that incorporate access to quality healthcare.
