Words cannot express the sentiment of my heart. I enjoyed every minute we spent together and learned more from our conversations than I could possibly ever have realized at the time. Galas will never be the same without you. Your love story continues to inspire. The world is missing your presence, and yet heaven is far more beautiful because you have ascended to angel wings. There are some thank you's that are not ever enough but in this moment my gratitude is boundless for the poise, grace, beauty, and indelible spirit. So many lives will celebrate the blessing of knowing you ...truly, both love and life are eternal. Peace be still and rest assured in the Glory of God. Prayers remain. Thank you Dr. Williams for introducing me to Gigi I am forever transformed. Trusting in God today and always, Courtney

On behalf of my family, I would like to express our deepest condolences to GiGi and Richard's families on her passing. We are grateful for the opportunity that we had to meet and interact with her. She undoubtedly left indelible foot prints on the sand of time. On behalf of the many beneficiaries of her kindness and generosity, we say thank you.

Much can be said of the lovely Genita Evangelista Johnson, but what was evident in her life and deeds were that GiGi was a multi-talented, generous, kind-hearted individual immersed in philanthropy and genuinely compassionate about the development of young minds and hearts. Her contributions to the ABC and others should be recognized in perpetuity. She handled illness with patience and grace. Her reward in heaven will be truly great as the Almighty is likely to say “well done my good and faithful servant”. Our memory of her earthly deeds should be cherished and bring about a smile to our faces when recounted.
