Mark Thompson, MD, FACC

Mark A. Thompson, M.D. is an invasive, non-interventional cardiologist. Dr. Thompson received his bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to earning his doctorate in medicine from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Dr. Thompson also completed a year of coursework and clinical research on coronary artery disease and risk factor modification through exercise and dietary regulation.

Dr. Thompson concluded his medical training at the John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute in New Orleans, where he studied cardiovascular disease and completed sub-specialty training in heart failure and cardiac transplantation.
His clinical interests are in clinical cardiology, cardiomyopathies, peripheral vascular disease and in multimodality cardiac and vascular imaging, including echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, nuclear cardiology and CT angiography.
